?The City of Joplin is receiving sealed bids for demolition and cleanup of area at the following location(s):

1610 E. North Street

1605 E. Furnace Street

EAST JOPLIN 1ST LOT 3 BLK 44

This is a package bid and the submitted cost must cover the work needed on all listed properties. Individual bids will not be accepted.?

Bids must be in the hands of the Planning & Community Development Department on or before 2:00 P.M. on Friday, June 13, 2025, in the office of the Building Department, City of Joplin, 602 S. Main Street, 4 th Floor, Joplin, MO.

Notice is hereby given that the Planning & Community Development of the City of Joplin, Missouri, will receive a sealed bid to make the following improvements in the City of Joplin, Missouri.

This is a package bid, and the submitted cost must cover the work needed on all listed properties. Individual bids will not be accepted.

The Planning & Community Development Manager reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to accept the lowest or best bid.

The winning bidder must comply with all municipal codes and state regulatory requirements including but not limited to:

Notify the City of Joplin building division of the date of the demolition as photos will need to be taken by an inspector the day of and prior to the demolition.

•Demolition contractors are responsible for the removal and proper disposal of all foundations, footings including sidewalks, driveways, concrete slabs, retaining walls, dead trees, stumps and debris. Please have a landfill address or GPS as well as BOL or Bill of Lading upon request.

•Following the removal of the retaining wall, fill the area with backfill then topsoil and must be installed at a maximum grade of 3 to 1. Elevation to be compacted to approximate existing density then seeding and straw as required.

Please see the attached map identifying the property lines as guidance.

There are 2 retaining walls between 1605 Furnace and 1603 Furnace. All trees and retaining walls on the 1603 Furnace property are to be left undisturbed.

On the demo properties, all live trees are to be left undisturbed unless they are blocking the removal or access of removal of footings, foundations, sidewalks, retaining walls or debris.

One large dead tree located on the 1610 North Street property is to be removed.

Further specifications are on file in the office of the Planning & Community Development Manager, 602 S. Main Street 4th Floor.  The successful bidder will be required to be licensed, Bonded and insured as a contractor of the City of Joplin, Missouri.  The Planning & Community Development Manager reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to accept the lowest or best bid.
