Advertisement for Bids
Sealed bids will be received at the Marion County Commissioner’s Office, 222 West Center
Street, Marion, Ohio 43302, until 9:30 a.m. on April 23rd, 2026, at which time they will be
publicly opened and read aloud, for the project known as MAR-C30G-5.19, Osbun Road over
Carroll Ditch.
The proposals must be made on the forms provided in the Contract Documents and shall contain
the full name and address of the bidder. All bids shall be sealed and plainly marked “SEALED
BID FOR MAR-C30G-5.19 Bridge Replacement”. Bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Security
in the form of a bid bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the bid or a certified
check in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid. In addition to the Bid Security, a one (1)
year Performance Bond is required for this project in the amount of one hundred percent (100%)
of the total project cost and may be submitted with the Bid Proposal.
Copies of the plans and specifications must be obtained from the Marion County Engineer’s
Office, 222 West Center Street, Marion, Ohio 43302, Monday-Friday, between the hours of 8:30
a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Cost for printed copies of each set of plans and specifications is $30.00 (cash or
check) and the cost is non-refundable. Electronic copies can be emailed at no charge.
The Owner requires that all work associated with the project be completed before Friday,
October 30th, 2026.
This is a prevailing wage contract in accordance with Ohio Revised Code Chapter 4111 and the
requirements of the Ohio Department of Commerce, Division of Labor and Worker Safety,
Wage and Hour Bureau. Bidders shall comply with all applicable provisions.
Engineer’s Estimate: $494,170.50
DOMESTIC STEEL USE REQUIREMENTS AS SPECIFIED IN SECTION 153.011 OF THE
OHIO REVISED CODE APPLY TO ANY LOAD BEARING STRUCTURAL STEEL USED
IN THIS PROJECT. COPIES OF SECTION 153.011 OF THE REVISED CODE CAN BE
OBTAINED FROM ANY OF THE OFFICES OF THE STATE OF OHIO DEPARTMENT
OF ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES.
No bids shall be withdrawn for a period of (60) days after the opening thereof. Awarding of the
contract shall be to the Lowest and Best Bidder as determined by the Marion County Board of
Commissioners in the best interest of the County. The Board reserves the right to reject any or all
bids.
