Overview
Summary

Sarasota County is requesting quotes from bidders to provide an all-inclusive quote that shall include labor, materials, equipment, setup, hauling, and supervision for all costs necessary to till approximately 6,000 +/- linear feet of beach on Siesta Key.

Background

Bidders
1. Bidders are requested to provide an all-inclusive quote that shall include labor, materials, equipment, setup, hauling, and supervision for all costs necessary to till approximately 6,000+/- linear feet of beach between Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Monument R-71, to Monument R-77 in accordance with the requirements specified in FDEP Joint Coastal Permit Modification No. 0240984-008-JN attached hereto and incorporated herein, and as depicted in the attached aerial photographs and surveys. Tilling shall be performed to a minimum depth of 24 inches, and as outlined in Specific Condition 19.b. of the modified permit.

Bidders are advised that the project area experienced a loss (erosion) of sand due to impacts from the 2024 hurricanes. The sand loss may preclude tilling access from approximately 750 feet south of R-74 to R-77. The attached aerial photos depict the beach conditions on October 19, 2024, after Hurricane Milton. Access to the site will be via Sarasota County's Turtle Beach Park, 8918 Midnight Pass Road, Sarasota, FL 34242.
