NYS Domestic and Sexual Violence Hotline
Description:

In recognition of the crisis that domestic and sexual violence creates for people who are harmed, New York State has made a commitment to ensure that crisis can be addressed immediately. One of those ways is through the availability of domestic and sexual violence hotlines, including the NYS Domestic and Sexual Violence Hotline, which includes hotline services as per the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA).

The NYS Domestic and Sexual Violence Hotline (NYS Hotline) is a statewide, toll-free, confidential Hotline operating 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year. It provides trained counselors who respond to a variety of service needs, including crisis intervention, information and education about victim rights and options, supportive counseling, and referral to domestic violence residential and non-residential service providers, rape crisis programs, other victim service providers, and community-based resources that may be of assistance.

OPDV will fund one grant of up to $1,860,000.00 for a base contract period from October 1, 2025 – September 30, 2028, with two optional one-year extensions of $620,000 each year. This contract is funded with $400,000 in state funds and $220,000 in federal Victims of Crime Act funds per year. Applications will be accepted from NYS based not-for-profit organizations affiliated in the ways listed in the RFP.
