REDEVELOPMENT. The City of Cloquet Economic Development Authority (Cloquet EDA) is seeking a qualified long-term development partner with past successful experience utilizing state and federal brownfield funding to initiate cleaning up industrial sites and then successfully redeveloping sites into viable mixed-use projects. The Cloquet EDA has released a Request for Proposals for the Redevelopment of Brenny Dahl Block Plant in Cloquet . The site is nestled into the crown jewel of the city’s park system, Pine Valley Recreation Area, and adjacent Northwoods Credit Union Arena, and is privately owned featuring approximately eight (8) acres of developable land along the South Highway 33 corridor in Cloquet, MN. The Cloquet EDA, in partnership with the Arrowhead Regional Development Commission and project consultant Stantec, leveraged over $100,000 in federal Environmental Protection Agency funding for environmental due diligence and redevelopment master planning vetted with commercial, hospitality, and housing real estate demand analysis for this site. Proposals are due by 4 p.m. on Friday May 22, 2026. For questions, contact the City of Cloquet Community Development Director Holly Hansen at: hhansen@cloquetmn.gov ; 218-879-2507 x4.
