Description

Shared Services Canada (SSC) has a requirement for a Contractor to deliver Government Managed Cabling Services (GMCS) using a Service Portal through which Requests for Quotation and Service Orders can be submitted, and invoices and reports can be delivered.
The Government of Canada (GC) established Shared Service Canada (SSC) on August 4, 2011 to provide specified shared services to the federal government. All entities that use SSC’s services from time to time in accordance with the Shared Services Canada Act are collectively referred to as SSC’s “Clients”.
The Contractor must deliver the GMCS requested in each Service Order to the Service Delivery Points (SDPs) identified in that Service Order. SDPs are Canada-owned or Canada-leased locations anywhere in Canada, including office spaces and data centres, that are occupied or that may be occupied during the Contract period by SSC or any of SSC’s Clients. SSC anticipates that the demand for GMCS will be equally divided between the National Capital Region (NCR) and the rest of the country. The Contractor must provide GMCS to any SDP in Canada identified in a Service Order.
SSC will manage the delivery of GMCS to its Clients, who occupy over 3,500 sites with installed cabling. Sites include standalone buildings and campus environments. SSC will request Quotations, issue Service Orders, and receive all invoices and reports under this Contract. The SSC Service Manager will manage the delivery of GMCS by the Contractor on behalf of SSC and its Clients. The SSC Service Manager will address day-to-day operational and technical issues and conduct inspections of work. The Technical Authority will address the technical aspects of the Statement of Work (SOW).
This Contract is for the delivery of GMCS for cabling owned by Canada. In some buildings, the existing cabling used by Canada is leased, and in some buildings there is a combination of cabling owned by Canada and leased from third parties. All new cabling that is ordered and/or installed under this Contract will be owned by Canada, including in buildings where there is a combination of cabling owned by Canada and leased by third parties.
The Contractor’s GMCS must cover all components of the cabling infrastructure, including intra-building and inter-building (outside plant in a campus environment) Backbone, Horizontal Cabling, connections, and patching, as ordered pursuant to individual Service Orders.
There will be three types of GMCS Work:
a) MAC Work (Moves, Adds and Changes or “MACs”);
b) Project Work; and
c) Repair Work
