Programmatic CEQA

Tuolumne County is soliciting a Request for Proposals to provide environmental consulting services to create a Programmatic California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA)-compliant document for fuel reduction and fuel maintenance projects for identified landscapes within the State Responsibility Area (SRA) of Tuolumne County.

The County of Tuolumne has made significant progress in the implementation of fuel reduction treatment projects for wildfire mitigation and forest health. However, the lack of a landscape-scale environmental permitting resource on the SRA has limited project proponents' ability to collaborate together on a long-term, streamlined planning horizon for fuel management. The current, piecemeal approach has also constrained project implementation timelines and failed to address long-term maintenance treatment of critical fuel breaks on an appropriate fuel return interval.
