Cary Street Rd & Malvern Ave Signal Upgrade Project

The City of Richmond is accepting bids for general contracting services for the Cary Street Rd & Malvern Ave Signal Upgrade Project project which includes, but may not be limited to, the installation of traffic signal poles, foundations, mast arm poles, conduits, junction boxes, traffic signal heads, pedestrian signal indicators (countdown), signage, sidewalk, wheelchair ramps, pavement markings, and other traffic related equipment.

The City of Richmond’s Department of Public Works Transportation Engineering Division (TED) operates and maintains 480 signalized intersections. The City of Richmond has developed a project to upgrade one signalized location with aging mast arm poles in failing condition. The purpose of this project is to replace the existing traffic signal assets at the designated intersection in order to enhance safety, reliability, and operational efficiency motorists and pedestrians while extending the service life of the traffic control device infrastructure.
