PLAYSCAPE INSTALLATION AT BLISS PARK

The Town of Longmeadow invites sealed bids for the installation of Town supplied playground playscape equipment at Bliss Park. Sealed Bids will be received at the Town of Longmeadow, Purchasing Department, Attn: Chad Thompson – Director of Procurement , 231 Maple Road, Longmeadow, MA 01106 until the bid deadline of 11:00am on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 per IFB Addendum No. 1 ) ( previously 11:00am on Wednesday, February 11, 2026) .  Late bids will be rejected.  Immediately following the bid deadline, bids will be publicly opened.  Sealed bids must have the outer envelope marked with ‘IFB Playscape Installation’ and complete contact information of the bidder.

The work consists of installing Town supplied playscape equipment.  Demolition of the old playground playscape equipment, and the installation of new playground surfaces is not part of this project.   All bids for this project are subject to the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 30, Section 39M as amended.

Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Town of Longmeadow, Purchasing Department, or can be obtained online through the Purchasing Department page of the Town website www.longmeadowma.gov . Those that download bid documents should register with the Purchasing Department or be responsible for monitoring bid postings for the issuance of addenda.  Failure to acknowledge bid addenda may result in a bid rejection.

An Optional Site Conference will take place at Bliss Park  on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at 1:30pm. Gather at Bliss Park playground near the intersection of Bliss Road and Laurel Street, Longmeadow, MA. Additional guided site inspection requests will not be accommodated.

All Bidders shall furnish with their Bid a bid guaranty in the form of a bid bond, cash or a certified check, treasurer’s check or cashier’s check issued by a responsible bank or trust company, in the amount of 5% of the total amount of the bid and made payable to the Town of Longmeadow, Massachusetts.

Performance and Labor and Materials Payment Bonds, in the full amount of the Contract Price, will be required of the Successful Bidder.  No Bid may be withdrawn within thirty (30) days after the opening of bids (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays).

Minimum Wage Rates as determined by the Commissioner of Department of Workforce Development under the provision of the Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Sections 26 to 27H, as amended, apply to this project.

The Town of Longmeadow, acting through the Town Manager, the Awarding Authority reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive minor informalities, and to award a contract in the best interest of the Town.
