The purpose of this requirement is to outfit five (5) newly hired fire department personnel with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1971-compliant turnout gear, ensuring they are equipped with structural firefighting protective garments that meet the highest industry standards for thermal protection, durability, and mobility.
