This notice is being published in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 5.101 requiring dissemination of information for proposed contract actions. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Network Contracting Office (NCO) 09, located at 1639 Medical Center Parkway, Suite 204, Murfreesboro, TN 37129 issuing an intent to award a firm fixed price contract to Hill-Rom located at 1069 State Route 46 East Batesville, IN 47006 under FAR 13.106-1(b).
The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 339112, Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing. The Federal Supply Class (FSC) is 6515, Medical and Surgical Instruments, Equipment, and Supplies. The Small Business Administration (SBA) size standard for this sector is 1,000 Employees.

This new equipment will be a direct replacement for existing equipment and must be compatible with existing infrastructure to include full integration with the current Centrella and Progressa Hill-Rom beds. This includes EarlySense technology which will allow us to wirelessly monitor patient vitals in Med surge units. This equipment purchase must also be brand specific to Hill-Rom's existing and upgraded equipment at Mountain Home VAMC.
The project shall include but is not limited to, upgrading nurse call/code blue system hardware and software, user terminals, patient room devices, notification/signaling devices, and any interconnecting data infrastructure.
The project shall be phased in such a way to minimize and, if possible, avoid nurse call/code blue system outages.
The Government does not anticipate receiving responses to this notice. If parties choose to respond, any cost associated with preparation and submission of data or any other cost incurred in response to this announcement are the sole responsibility of the respondent and will not be reimbursed by the Government All items are manufactured exclusively by Hill-Rom and are distributed and installed exclusively by Hill-Rom. or its authorized installers.

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement and submit capability statement no later than 10:00 am., CT, Wednesday March 26, 2025 to: Christina.Lawrence2@va.gov. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no written response is received within the closing date of this notice, a single source blanket purchase agreement award will be made to Hill-Rom without any further notice.
