IFB 24-201 Laundry Services
Description:

Vendor with must apply for and receive accreditation from the Healthcare Laundry Accreditation Council (HLAC). They must remain accredited for the entire period that they process OMH facility textiles. An explanation of the HLAC accreditation process can be found at https://hlacnet.org/accreditation

Linen Services shall include the delivery, pick up and laundering of all items. The CONTRACTOR agrees to sort, wash, dry, iron, press, fold and bundle various types of linen according to HLAC standards. The CONTRACTOR in addition will supply the facility with sufficient turnabout of carts for clean linen delivery and soiled linen return. The HLAC accreditation standards for processing reusable textiles in healthcare facilities are identified at https://hlacnet.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/HLAC_2023-Accredidation-Standards-Checklist2.pdf. These standards cover the entire processing cycle from pick up of soiled textiles, to in-plant processing, to delivery back to the OMH facility.

CONTRACTOR must ensure the separation of clean and dirty linens at all times.

The Facility agrees to maintain established inventory control procedures to insure that appropriate inventory is maintained. The Facility shall not, however, be held liable for the loss of linen. The facility will return all remaining available linen supply owned by the CONTRACTOR to the CONTRACTOR at the end of the contract.

The FACILITY shall have the right to ask for special handling of certain linen items, at additional costs, as mutually agreed upon.

All linens must be free of stains, tears, frayed edges, and discoloration. All bags are to be provided for soiled laundry as part of this contract.

The truck used to deliver and pick up linens should be of sufficient height to allow easy transfer of linen carts onto and from the Facility's loading dock, thereby minimizing the number of times the linen must be handled.
