Municipal Brush Pile Removal & Disposal - 2026
Sealed bids will be received at the Town of Derry Municipal Center, 14 Manning Street,
Derry NH 03038 until 2 pm on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, for the removal and
disposal of a brush pile located at the Town of Derry Transfer Station – 50 Transfer
Lane, Derry, NH.
Bids must be delivered in a sealed envelope clearly marked “Municipal Brush Pile
Removal & Disposal 2026” to:

PROJECT REQUIREMENTS
INTRODUCTION
The Town of Derry, NH is seeking a qualified contractor to remove the brush pile at the
Transfer Station. The existing brush pile is to be chipped and/or hauled off site for
disposal.
PROJECT REQUIREMENTS
The contractor will be responsible for providing all equipment and labor to remove and
dispose of an existing brush pile generated by Town residents at the Transfer Station.
Contractors will be permitted to work outside regular business hours, if needed with prior
approval, during the months of September – November. Otherwise, contractors should
plan to complete the work during the normal business hours of the Transfer Station in a
manner that maintains access and safety for residents. . All work shall be completed by
November 24, 2026.
Dispose and remove the entire brush pile at the Transfer Station located at 50 Transfer
Lane, Derry, NH, 03038. The existing brush pile is to be chipped and hauled off site for
disposal.
• Contractor will remove all brush by November 24, 2026. The contractor is
expected to remove the pile including any additional brush added after the date
of the walkthrough/viewing. The entire pile up until contractor is ready to mobilize
the removal of the pile must be removed.
• Contractor will be provided a lay down area behind the pile for the purposes of
chipping and/or loading material to be hauled off site.
• Contractor’s processing operation shall not interfere with the daily operation of
the area for residents to dispose of brush.
• Foreign items to be found in pile such as metal, trash, etc. can be deposited in
the respectable areas of the transfer station. However, the remainder of the pile
must be removed. All old wood, dirty wood, stumps, dirt, duff, etc. is to be hauled
off and area left clean to start a new pile.
• Contractor is to accept all brush as part of the awarded bid until operation is
complete at the proposed bid price.
• Access outside normal operating business hours can be arranged within reason.
• The pile can be viewed and assessed at any time of normal business hours up
until time of submittal.
Other Considerations
• Pricing shall include all labor, material, and equipment necessary to perform the
described work according to all specifications shown.
• The Town of Derry NH will not provide equipment to move chips on site or for hauling
purposes. Prior to bidding, interested contractors are encouraged to view the material to
determine approximate quantity and establish realistic timeframes.
The Town of Derry reserves the right to renew this contract at the same unit price for an
additional year if agreed to by the low bidder.

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
PREPARATIONS OF BIDS/PROPOSALS: Proposals shall be submitted on the forms
provided and must be signed by the Bidder or his authorized representative.
Alternative bids will be considered, unless otherwise stated, only if the alternate is
described completely, including, but not limited to, sample, if requested and
specifications sufficient so that a comparison to the request can be made.
SUBMITED BIDS/PROPOSALS: Proposals must be submitted as directed in the Bid
Advertisement, and on the forms provided unless otherwise specified.
Proposals must be typewritten or printed in ink. Proposals must be mailed or delivered
in person.
Proposals that are faxed or emailed will not be accepted.
WITHDRAWING BIDS/PROPOSALS: Proposals may be withdrawn prior to the opening
date and time upon written request of the Bidder up to three (3) calendar days prior to
the bid opening. Negligence on the part of the Bidder in preparing his/her proposal shall
not constitute a right to withdraw a proposal subsequent to the proposal opening.
PROPOSAL EVALUATION: The Town of Derry (Owner) reserves the right to reject any
and all proposals received in response to the proposal.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE: Only Contractors experienced in the industry will be
considered for the work.
Contractors may be required to submit a concise summary demonstrating their
qualifications, including a minimum of three municipal and/or private references familiar
with their work.
References may be contacted to confirm the quality of previously completed work,
suitability of Contractor operations, and responsiveness to the owner’s needs.
AWARD OF CONTRACT; Contracts are awarded only to responsible bidders. In order
to qualify as responsible, a prospective Contractor must meet the following standards as
they relate to this request:
Have adequate financial resources for performance or have the ability to obtain such
resources as required during performance.
Have the necessary experience, organization, technical and professional qualifications,
skills and facilities.
Be able to comply with the proposed or required time of completion or performance
schedule; and
