INSTALLATION OF 24-STRAND SINGLE-MODE OS2 FIBER AT WASHINGTON ELMS AND PISANI

The Cambridge Housing Authority, as Owner and managing agent for its affiliate properties, invites bids to install 24-Strand Single-Mode OS2 Fiber at Washington Elms (100 Harvard Street, Cambridge, MA 02139) in accordance with the bid documents as written by the Cambridge Housing Authority.

The awarded contractor will be responsible for installing 24-strand OS2 fiber between all designated buildings and ensuring cable pathway between buildings. The scope of work will include, but not be limited to, installing and securing patch panels and splicing trays at termination points. Test all terminated fiber strands with OTDR and power meter. Contractors must be in business as a corporation or company for a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years in order to be eligible. See bid documents for additional details.

The not-to-exceed limit amount of this project is estimated at $48,000.00.

Bid Forms and Contract Documents will be available at www.procore.com on Thursday, September 17, 2025, at 10:00 AM (may be downloaded and viewed electronically).

THIS PROJECT IS BEING ELECTRONICALLY BID AND HARD COPY BIDS WILL

NOT BE ACCEPTED BY THE AWARDING AUTHORITY. Bids must be electronically submitted at www.procore.com. Additional instructions to complete the other bid forms are accessible on the Procore website. A mandatory Site Visit will be scheduled for Monday, September 23, 2025, at 10:00 AM at 107 Portland Street, Cambridge, MA. CHA will notify vendors of the developments scheduled to be visited at least 48 hours prior to this date.

Bids will be subject to M.G. L. c.149 inclusive and to the Davis Bacon Wage Rates. All quotes should be submitted electronically online at www.procore.com and received no later than Thursday, October 1, 2025, by 12:00PM.

The time of acceptance of the bid by the Cambridge Housing Authority is 30 days from the date of the bid opening.  Award of contract will be made to the responsible and eligible bidder offering to perform the contract at the lowest price.  The award of the contract is conditioned on approval by the Cambridge Housing Authority’s Executive Director. The contract is subject to the appropriation of adequate funds and may be cancelled in the event such funds are not available.

The wages paid to all employees on this project shall not be less than the Davis Bacon Wage Rates. Refer to wage rate schedules in the Project Specification.

Bidders are encouraged to visit the site of the proposed work and become fully acquainted with the conditions as they exist in order to fully understand conditions, restrictions, and difficulties attending the execution of the work under this contract. By submitting a bid, the bidder warrants that he has examined the site and bid documents and that the bid documents are adequate and the required result can be produced as written. No increase in the contract sum nor claim for damages due to delay will be permitted as a result of the contractor’s failure to accomplish any or all these requirements.

The Awarding Authority reserves the right to reject all bids and to waive any informality in the bidding if it is in the public interest to do so.  The Cambridge Housing Authority also reserves the right to reject the bids if less than three bids are received.
