ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed bids will be received by the City of Bainbridge Island for the Country Club Road Reconstruction project until 9:30 am, December 12, 2024, at the City Clerk’s office, 280 Madison Avenue N., Bainbridge Island, Washington, 98110, and will be opened and publicly read out loud at 10:00 AM on December 12, 2024.
All bid proposals must be on the form provided and must be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit in cashier’s check, postal money order, or surety bond, on the form provided, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid proposal. The amount of the surety bond may be stated either as a dollar amount or as a percentage of the bid proposal. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such contract and furnish satisfactory payment and performance bonds within the time stated in the Standard Specifications for Road, Bridge and Municipal Construction, 2024 edition, as issued by the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) and the American Public Works Association (APWA), Washington State Chapter, (Standard Specifications) as amended by the Amendments to the Standard Specifications and Special Provisions, then the bid proposal deposit shall be forfeited to the City of Bainbridge Island.

Bids must be sealed with the outside of the envelope marked by the PROJECT NAME AND BID OPENING DATE. The name and address of the bidder should also appear on the outside of the envelope. Faxed or electronic bids and/or surety bonds will not be accepted. After the date and hour set for the opening of bids, no bidder may withdraw its bid unless the award of the contract is delayed for a period exceeding 120 calendar days following the bid opening. All bidders agree to be bound by their bids until the expiration of the stated time period.
NATURE OF IMPROVEMENT: The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, supplies, and incidentals necessary for the following major elements:
Roadway reconstruction along Country Club Road approximately 1,700 feet (from Toe Jam Hill Road to the seawall southeast of Toe Jam Hill Road); work includes pavement pulverization and reclamation, grading, asphalt paving, driveway and roadside restoration, water meter/valve box adjustments, pavement markings, and other related work.
The City of Bainbridge Island reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities in the bidding process. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder. Bidders must meet the mandatory responsibility criteria required by RCW 39.04.350 and any supplemental criteria described in the Contract Documents. Bidders should verify they meet the responsibility criteria before submitting a bid.
