Description
INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE NOTICE
On behalf of the VA Illiana Health Care System (VAIHCS), 1901 E Main Street, Danville, IL 61832, the Network Contracting Office (NCO) 12, Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC), is intending to negotiate a sole source contract for Virtual Pharmacy Services. This acquisition is conducted under 38 U.S.C. 513 and under the authority 41 USC §3304(a)(5), 38 U.S. Code § 8127(c), as implemented by FAR 6.302-5 (Authorized or Required by Statute).
The resultant contract will consist of a five-year ordering period with an anticipated award date of February 1, 2025.
The vendor shall provide professional inpatient pharmacy services to remotely complete pending inpatient orders (including those administered by the intravenous route). These services would be needed during off tour hours, to include weekends and all observed Federal Holidays when the inpatient pharmacy is closed.

The pharmacist will perform remote prescription order review/order entry services for inpatient orders, as well as clinic orders. Contracted pharmacist will enter the correct dose/unit for use. Pharmacists shall provide prescription verification and appropriate clinical recommendations to referring VAIHCS nurses and physicians. Pharmacists shall be readily available for telephone consultations regarding urgent/emergent medications and clinical needs. Â
