WTP Sanitary Sewer System Improvements

The City of Richmond, Virginia (the "City"), on behalf of the Department of Public Utilities ("DPU"), seeks bids from qualified firms to provide construction services at the City's Water Treatment Plant (“WTP”). The Project will entail replacement of the sanitary sewer pump system, gravity piping, grinders, force main, and heat tracing on the force main, as well as installation of a new sump pump to empty the secondary containment area (the "Work"). Specific details regarding the nature and prosecution of the Work are provided in the Statement of Work.

The Sanitary Sewer System, located at the City's Water Treatment Plant, is obsolete and in need of improvement. Work outlined in this IFB is expected to renew an aging system, provide additional sanitary containment protection, and add a monitoring system that will alert WTP operations of issues with the system. These improvements will ultimately result in increased reliability of the sanitary system and reduced risk of cross contamination with drinking water processes.
