Project Description: The Scott Street at Beltway 8 improvements project provides ADA and pedestrian accessibility near the Sam Houston Toll Road. The project also includes new signalized intersection at Scott Street and Brunswick Meadows Drive to improve vehicular, ADA and pedestrian accessibility. The HCTRA Active Transportation Study (2022) identified 44 intersections with 99 crashes (2016–2021), noting S Sam Houston Pkwy E at Scott St as high-risk due to inadequate pedestrian infrastructure. The project includes a new traffic signal at Scott St and Brunswick Meadows Dr, 0.41 miles of sidewalk, and upgraded signage, striping, and turn lanes, aligning with Houston’s High Injury Network.
