APEX Accelerators are funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the Department of Defense.
The APEX Accelerators program was formerly known as the Procurement Technical Assistance Program (opens in new window) (PTAP).
Description:
The Government intends to procure 200 Life Preserver Units, Serpent LPU Part Number S-9510-1, for the qualification of the Survival Vest System Improvement (SVSI) program. These assets are required to support ongoing qualification and testing activities.
This requirement will be solicited as a sole source procurement to Switlik Parachute Company (CAGE Code: 78673) as a simplified acquisition. Switlik is a small business and is the original equipment manufacturer and the only known source capable of providing the specified LPU assets. The Serpent LPU P/N S-9510-1 is a proprietary item and no other suppliers are authorized or able to meet the Government’s technical and performance requirements.
Authority:
The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1.
THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. Interested parties, however, may identify their interest and capability by responding to the requirement with a capability statement. The Government will consider all information received prior to the closing date of this synopsis. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. No phone inquiries will be entertained. Responses shall be made in writing by E-mail to the attention of Ms. Amy Wescott or Mr. Greg Tollefsen using the contact information provided in this synopsis. Companies interested in subcontracting opportunities should contact Switlik Parachute Company.
