The proposed contract is for Planting Implementation on multiple blocks in a spring planting contract of approximately 1.4 million trees, with the fieldwork starting in late May and ending in late June in the
Fort St. John area.
The Contractor shall provide the following Services:
a) monitor the performance of the Planting Contractor for compliance with the terms and conditions of the Planting Contract; and notify the Ministry Representative of any contraventions.
b) act as a liaison between the Planting Contractor and the Ministry Representative;
c) perform pre-planting site inspections and layout, as requested by the Ministry Representative;
d) perform Planting pay plots and Regen/Stocking plots utilizing the same plot centre;
e) schedule, record and conduct individual block Pre-works to review potential safety issues, treatment, request keys, species, density, best micro sites and seedling allocation;
f) maintain a planting daily record and daily diary of all activities, which will include observations of Planting Contractor performance, specifically but not limited to: species mixes, densities, and productivity, contraventions of the Planting Contract, weather conditions and any significant conversations with the Planting Contractor respecting the performance of work under the Planting Contractor or Pre-work Conferences.
The contract may include various site conditions including working in isolated areas.

Be aware that BCTS has made changes to its EMS and SFM programs to meet the updated 2022 Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) Forest Management Standard. Changes impacting BCTS clients include new training requirements (Table 008-1, 008-1A, Tailgate Training, SFI Awareness documents, and new Indigenous rights awareness training, as well as changes to training frequency and a new continuing education component). In addition, note changes to EMS/SFM Environmental Field Procedures and Incident Reporting Procedures which occurred June 1, 2022.
Supervisors and workers will need to be familiar with these changes prior to commencement of operations.
