Description
The Iowa State Electrical Examining Board (Board) was established in Iowa Code 103 and held its first meeting in September 2007. The Board is charged with developing and administering a program to license electricians and electrical inspectors throughout the State of Iowa. The Board has determined that it is in their best interests to outsource certain Board duties such as the testing of applicants to determine their competence in the field of electrical installations. Successful passage of the appropriate tests will be used by the Board to award licensure in that particular class.
The Board tests candidates in the following electrician classes:
? Master Electrician
? Journeyman Electrician
? Residential Electrician
? Residential Master Electrician
? Disconnect/Reconnect Existing HVAC Equipment and Refrigeration Equipment
? Irrigation
