Island, IL.
Project Overview
The City of Rock Island is seeking proposals from qualified electrical contractors to safely
remove existing ceiling light fixtures from an acoustic tile ceiling, store them temporarily, and
reinstall them once the ceiling grid is completely removed.

Walk though date: August 12,2026 at 9a.m. @ 1609 4th Street Rock Island
Bid due date: August 19, 2026 by 2p.m. 1528 Third Avenue Rock Island, IL. Second floor.
Scope of Work
Disconnect and Demount: Safely disconnect electrical power and remove all existing light
fixtures from the current acoustic ceiling grid.
Safeguard Wiring: Terminate, cap, and secure all exposed electrical wiring according to local
building codes to ensure safety during the ceiling demolition.
Storage Preparation: Carefully pack and label all fixtures, bulbs, and mounting hardware to
prevent damage.
Reinstallation: Mount and rewire the original fixtures to the newly exposed structural ceiling or
new support system once the acoustic ceiling is removed.
Testing: Conduct functionality and safety testing on all reinstalled fixtures.
Submission Requirements
Cost Estimate: Itemized pricing breaking down labor, materials, and disposal fees (if any).
Insurance: Proof of commercial general liability and workers' compensation insurance.
Evaluation Criteria
Proposals will be evaluated based on the following metrics:
Total cost and value.
Proposed timeline and minimal disruption to the facility.
Completeness of the submission.

Please submit your lump-sum proposal, including a detailed breakdown of costs and a project
timeline, to the attention of Jeff Laxton, Construction Officer, City of Rock Island. Sealed bids
must be received on or before August 19. 2026 by 2p.m.
