Invitation for Bids
For
CEMETERY GRAVE EXCAVATION AND BURIAL SERVICES
The Town of Shrewsbury invites sealed bids for Cemetery Grave Excavation and Burial Services. All contractors must submit bids in conformance with this Invitation for Bids and the related documents which shall be available online at https://shrewsburyma.gov/bids and also in the Town Manager’s Office at 100 Maple Avenue in Shrewsbury (phone: 508-841-8508). Town Offices are open Mon, Wed, Thu 8:00 AM-4:30 PM; Tue 8:00 AM-6:30 PM; and Fri 8:00 AM-12:00 PM.
The scope of work is as follows: the excavation and closing of graves in accordance with best cemetery practices for the purpose of burying human remains at Mountain View Cemetery and the Cemetery Expansion at Prospect Park.
The awarded contract shall be for a term of three years beginning on July 1, 2025.
This Invitation for Bids shall be governed by the requirements of MGL Chapter 30, §39M.
Bids will be received in the Town Manager’s Office at 100 Maple Avenue in Shrewsbury, MA until 11:00 AM on June 10, 2025, at which time they will be opened publicly and read aloud.
Bids must be sealed and marked “Cemetery Grave Excavation and Burial Services” with the bidder’s name and address clearly noted.
A bid deposit in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid shall accompany the Bid and be made payable to the Town of Shrewsbury.
The Town reserves the right to waive any minor informalities in the bids and to reject any and all bids if it shall be deemed in the best interests of the Town to do so.
