The Department is seeking a Contractor to provide all labor, materials, equipment and supervision for Project, including drainage improvement and diverting the stormwater to the nearest points to divert water through the filters and catch basin, and other miscellaneous modifications, in accordance with the DGS Specifications and Drawings, dated December 10, 2018, titled “DPW Ft. Totten Outer Lot Resurfacing – Existing Condition” and Drawings dated September 27, 2023 titled “Resurfacing Plan”.
The scope of this Project is limited to construction and relevant improvement work, including but not limited to: (i) demolition of existing asphalt surface; and (ii) installing new asphalt coat following the design as outlined in the attached drawings. New resurfacing must meet all codes of practices, making necessary slopes to drain all stormwater to the nearest outlets/manholes, and the drainage system so that after the storm no impoundment occurs at the area of the scope. The Contractor will also provide necessary parking lot striping and zebra crossing as defined in the attached drawings. All demolition debris must be taken out of the site by the Contractor using his own resources.
The District of Columbia Department of General Services (“DGS” or the “Department”) is issuing this Invitation for Bids (“IFB”) to engage a Contractor (the “Contractor”) to provide all necessary services, supervision, permits, labor, supplies, equipment, and materials to perform Construction Services for the Department of Public Works (“DPW”) Fort Totten Solid Waste Transfer Station Outer Lot Resurfacing (the “Project”) located at 4900 John McCormack Road NE, Washington, DC 20011. The Contractor shall complete the Project’s requirements in accordance with Section C, Specifications/Scope of Work Statement (“SOW”) and Attachment J.1, Specifications and Drawings.
The Department intends to make one (1) contract award to the Bidder who submits the lowest bid that is responsive and responsible. To this end, the Department will evaluate bids submitted in the Offer Letter and Bid Form consistent with the price-related evaluation factors identified in the IFB.
