Description:

The Work comprises, but is not limited to: mobilization; traffic control; pavement reconstruction/pavement replacement at varying depths in selected areas; replacement of manhole frames and covers; reconstruction of selected access ramps; construction of a median-island extension; a 2-inch full-width grind and asphalt concrete overlay; adjustment of utility covers to grade; replacement of traffic loops with video detection at selected intersection; restoration of selected traffic loops; restoration of all striping, markings, and raised pavement markers; and implementation of new green bike lanes.

Work shall be completed in compliance with approved Project Design Plans and Specifications, on file with the City Clerk.

Qualifications:

The Contractor shall possess a valid Class A license at the time of submitting bids. To be qualified, bidder must have the experience, manpower, and equipment necessary and have successfully completed a minimum of five (5) projects of similar-type street rehabilitation projects (each involving 3,000 tons or more of asphalt per project) for a government/ public agency within the last five (5) years.

Special Requirements:

10% Bid Bond, 100% Performance Bond, 100% Payment Bond. It shall be mandatory, upon the contractor to whom the contract is awarded, and upon any subcontractor under him, to pay not less than the prevailing rate of wages as established by the City Council as they apply to the work being performed. Said prevailing rates are available from the State of California Department of Industrial Relations website (**See link under Description).
