Title: Sole Source: Data Center UPS Mainteance and Support
Addenda: 0
Release Date: 1/21/2026
Due Date: 2/9/2026
This project is to award the repair and maintenance of several Data Center Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems currently in production. The scope of work includes a yearly maintenance plan that provides preventive maintenance, annual system checkups, and coverage for unexpected errors and equipment breakdowns to ensure continuous and reliable operation.
Eaton Corporation, as the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of the UPS systems, is the only entity authorized to provide factory-supported, factory-trained, and factory-certified service using proprietary Eaton software, tools, documentation, and OEM replacement parts. No third-party vendors are authorized to perform these services in the United States. This sole source procurement ensures manufacturer-compliant support, system reliability, safety, and uninterrupted operation of critical data center infrastructure.
The City utilizes Eaton-branded Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) equipment to support critical operations and infrastructure. These systems require specialized preventive maintenance, diagnostics, firmware updates, repairs, and access to OEM replacement parts to ensure proper functionality and compliance with manufacturer specifications.
Eaton Corporation is the original manufacturer of the UPS equipment and maintains exclusive control over the proprietary service software, repair documentation, parts, and certification required to service its 3-phase UPS systems. Eaton does not authorize, train, certify, or support third-party service providers in the United States to perform service or repairs on Eaton UPS equipment. As a result, Eaton is the only provider capable of delivering factory-supported and factory-certified service for this equipment.
Maintaining OEM service support is necessary to ensure system reliability, safety compliance, warranty protection, and continuity of operations for critical facilities.
