Project Description: Built in 1958, Fire Station 43 has exceeded its expected service life. A replacement Fire Station 43 will be constructed on a vacant site located at 2960 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, Texas 75220. As part of the City’s 2024 Bond Program (Proposition F), Fire Station 43 is slated for full replacement with a purpose-built, state-of-the-art facility. An approximate 12,000 square foot replacement facility is necessary to accommodate larger apparatus or provide adequate, for a modern workforce. The new replacement facility will contain essential modern health and safety features such as decontamination areas and advanced exhaust extraction.
This investment plans to eliminate escalating maintenance costs, improve energy efficiency, and deliver a safe, resilient station capable of serving Northwest Dallas for the next 50 years.
Program requirements and design guidelines for the replacement facility will be in accordance with the updated Fire Stations Building Standard Design Program (rev. 2021), effective as of February 10, 2023 and 2021 International Fire Code (IFC). This document will be provided to short-list Respondents during the RFP phase of this selection process.
Fire Station 43 will be replaced on the vacant site located at 2960 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, Texas 75220.
