The City of St. Petersburg, Florida (“City”) is seeking the services of a qualified Architectural/Engineering (“A/E”) firms to provide design and construction administration services for a new Police K-9 compound located at the addresses 2311 7th Ave S through 2399 8th Ave, in St. Petersburg.
The existing Public Safety Training Facility, constructed in the 1980s, is located on the western bank of Lake Maggiore within an existing Public Works compound. It currently serves the St. Petersburg Police Department for K-9 kenneling and training, as well as SWAT training. The facility has exceeded its useful service life and needs replacement.
The K-9 compound will include a K-9 building that must have the following:
This project underwent a programming study and was originally slated to be rebuilt within the existing compound. However, due to a broader interest in expanding other facilities within the compound, an alternative site was identified. As a result, the project location was reconsidered and is now proposed for development at a nearby vacant site.
The project will be located across the addresses 2311 7th Ave S through 2399 8th Ave S in St. Petersburg. It spans multiple parcels identified as vacant land, totaling approximately 2.64 acres. A total of thirty-five (35) parking spaces are required, and 24 are currently provided.
The project will require LEED Certification with objective of Gold.
