INVITATION TO BIDTURBOCOR COMPRESSOR REPLACEMENT

The Cambridge Housing Authority, as Owner and managing agent for its affiliate properties, invites bids to replace two Turbocor compressors at LBJ (150 Erie Street, Cambridge, MA 02139) and Manning apartments (237 Franklin Street, Cambridge, MA 02139) in accordance with the bid documents as written by the Cambridge Housing Authority.

The awarded contractor will be responsible for removing failed compressors, disposing, and installing new compressors. The scope of work will include, but not be limited to, replacing failed discharge check valve, starting, testing the proper operation, and locking out tag unit electronically. Contractors must be in business as a corporation or company a minimum of five (5) years in order to be eligible and should be DCAMM certified.  See bid documents for additional details.

This project is estimated at $300,000.00.

NOT BE ACCEPTED BY THE AWARDING AUTHORITY. Bids must be electronically submitted at www.procore.com. Additional instructions to complete the other bid forms are accessible on the Procore website. A Site Visit will be scheduled for Thursday, April 3, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Interested contractors shall meet at the entrance of LBJ Apartments ((150 Erie Street, Cambridge, MA 02139).

Bids will be subject to M.G. L. c.30B Section 5 inclusive and to the Davis Bacon Wage Rates. All bids should be submitted electronically online at www.procore.com and received no later than Thursday, April 10, 2025, by 2:00PM. Every bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Deposit not less than five (5%) of the greatest possible bid amount and made payable to the Cambridge Housing Authority.

The time of acceptance of the bid by the Cambridge Housing Authority is 30 days from the date of the bid opening.  Award of contract will be made to the responsible and eligible bidder offering to perform the contract at the lowest price.  The award of the contract is conditioned on approval by the Cambridge Housing Authority’s Executive Director. The contract is subject to the appropriation of adequate funds and may be cancelled in the event such funds are not available.

A Payment and Performance Bond in the amount of 100% of the contract value will be required by the awarding vendor(s). The wages paid to all employees on this project shall not be less than the Davis Bacon Wage Rates. Refer to wage rate schedules in the Project Specification.

The Awarding Authority reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities in the bidding if it is in the public interest to do so.  The Cambridge Housing Authority also reserves the right to reject the bids if less than three bids are received.
