NOTICE OF THE PURCHASE OF COUNTY SUPPLIES FOR
AMITE COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI
JANUARY 1, 2026, THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors of Amite County, Mississippi, will on the
1st day of December, 2025, at the hour of 9:00 a.m. at the Courthouse in the Town of Liberty,
Mississippi, in the regular meeting assembled, receive and consider sealed bids or proposals
(facsimile transmission bids will not be considered) for the purchase of county supplies for Amite
County, Mississippi, for the stated period of time, as are used by the county and county district
officers, and to be classed as follows:
a) Hire of trucks, tractors and other road working equipment
b) Grader Blades (Beveled and Straight Edge) with 2” bolts
c) Bridging and Bridge Construction
d) Sand and Gravel
e) Processed Gravel, Concrete Gravel, Pea Gravel, Matt Rock
f)
#7 Limestone, #89 Limestone and #610 Limestone
g) Hot mix and cold mix
h) Legal publications, ruled forms, stationary and other printed supplies
i)
Letter and legal size copy paper for "plain paper" copier
j)
Office and paper supplies for all the County offices and departments, as specified
k) Lead-free gasoline: Minimum octane 87, with or without detergent
l)
Lead-free gasoline: Minimum octane 89, with or without detergent
m) Highway and non-highway diesel fuel, diesel oil, oil of all kinds, grease and other
fuel items pertaining to operating tractors and other machinery
n) Gasoline and diesel fuel should contain "Tax-Exempt Fuel Dye"
o) Liquid Asphalt and Emulsified Asphalt as follows: (Prices quoted must be firm, no
escalation clauses should be included in bid. If escalation clause is included with
bid it will not be considered.)

Contract Term shall be January 2025 or upon award by the Amite County
Board of Supervisors, whichever is later, through December 2025.
In the letting of public contracts, preference shall be given to resident
contractors, and non-resident bidder domiciled in the state having laws granting
preference to local contractors shall be awarded Mississippi public contract only on
the same basis as the non-resident bidder's state awards contracts to Mississippi
contractors bidding under similar circumstances. Resident contractors actually
domiciled in Mississippi, be they corporate, individuals, or partnerships, are to be
granted preference over non-residents in awarding contracts in the same manner
and to the same extent as provided by the laws of the state of domicile of the non-
resident.
The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
If the Amite County Courthouse/Board of Supervisors is closed for any
reason, including but not limited to: acts of God, strikes, lockouts, riots, acts of war,
epidemics, governmental regulations superimposed after the fact, fire, earthquakes,
floods or other natural disasters (the “Force Majeure Events”), which closure
prevents the opening of bids at the advertised date and time, all bids received shall
be publicly opened and read aloud on the next business day that the Amite County
Courthouse/Board of Supervisors shall be open and at the previously advertised
time. The new date and time of the bid opening, as determined in accordance with
this paragraph, shall not be advertised, and all Vendors/Contractors, upon
submission of a bid proposal, shall be deemed to have knowledge of and shall have
agreed to the provisions of this paragraph. Bids shall be received by the agency until
the new date and time of the bid opening as set forth herein. The Amite County
Courthouse/Board of Supervisors shall not be held responsible for the receipt of any
bids for which the delivery was attempted and failed due to the closure of the
agency as a result of a Force Majeure Event. Each Vendor/Contractor shall be
required to ensure the delivery and receipt of its bid by the agency prior to the new
date and time of the bid opening.
