General Description
The City of Greenville will accept bids for the purchase of two ADA-compliant electric door
opening equipment and subsequent installation of the equipment in the Public Safety
Building. Doors may be replaced, as part of this project, if necessary.

Bid Information
Any changes and/or addenda to this RFP will be posted on www.greenvillemi.org under
the bids tab. Any and all questions regarding this RFP shall be directed to Director Brian
Blomstrom, as listed above.
Due Date
Bids are due 2:00 pm, Tuesday, January 13, 2026.

Please submit your sealed proposals using the attached bid form, as well as all other
requested information. One physical copy of the proposal shall be delivered to:

All responses must be clearly labeled “City of Greenville ADA Door Project.”
Emailed responses will not be accepted.
Evaluation of Bids
The City will review all submitted bids and other relevant information (cost, best value for
the municipality, subjective considerations) regarding the products which the City wishes
to purchase. The City reserves the right to accept or reject any response for any or no
reason and to waive any minor irregularity if determined to be in the best interest of the
City of Greenville. Individuals or companies submitting paperwork as part of the bid
selection process understand, by their submission, the above evaluation process.
Furthermore, the City reserves the right to reduce the number of purchasable items on
the bid specification list after the bid opening, in order to decrease the final cost if needed
to meet specific financial needs for the project.
Selection of Bids
Once the appropriate bid is selected, it will be presented to the City Council for approval.
Upon vendor and bid approval, the selected vendor will receive a “Notice of Award” and
the opportunity to review the plan of execution for the project with City officials.
The “Total Amount Proposed” cost will be valid for a minimum of 60 days after the bid
opening date and prospective vendors will be held to the price presented.
Scope of Work
The City of Greenville will accept bids for the purchase and installation of two ADA-
compliant door opening devices for two restroom doors located in the Public Safety
Building, according to the specifications outlined in this document. This installation
includes mounting of devices, switches, and all equipment to ensure the doors open and
close properly, allowing access to restroom facilities for all individuals. Additionally, the
scope of work also includes the installation or connection of any electrical wiring or
mechanical components to guarantee the successful operations of all necessary
equipment.
Based on the age, size, and weight of the current restroom doors, the contractor has the
option to also bid new doors, framing, and the installation work to change out the entry to

the restroom area in order to ensure the hardware for the door opening system works
properly.
No sales tax may be added to the bid price, as the City of Greenville is sales tax exempt.
Any bid submitted outside of the requested specifications the reason for the deviation
from the requested specification of the City of Greenville.
Companies are encouraged to meet with the contact person and view both the window
and door installation areas to obtain specific measurements and information prior to
submitting a bid, if so desired.
Companies proposing equipment outside of the proposal specifications or a design
outside of the example pictures need to also provide justification as to why the listed
specifications could not be met and how the equipment proposed meets or exceeds the
requested merchandise listed.
