Town of Coronation – Project #2025-001
The Town of Coronation is seeking proposals from qualified pool contractors for the design and construction of a new outdoor competition and leisure pool at 5111 Royal Street, Coronation, AB.
Project Overview
The new aquatic centre will include:
A 25-meter, four-lane junior Olympic pool
A 10-person hot tub
A zero-depth beach entrance leisure area
Various water play features
A 33-meter waterslide complex
A reinforced concrete deck with drainage and slip-resistant finish
A mechanical room with advanced filtration systems
A 350 m² pool services building and a 50 m² mechanical building may also be constructed, budget permitting.
Scope & Timeline
The successful proponent will provide design-build services ensuring compliance with Alberta Health Pool Standards for a bather load of 250 persons.
Key Dates:
Site Meeting: April 9, 2025
Proposal Deadline: April 23, 2025
Project Award: April 30, 2025
Design Approvals Complete: July 1, 2025
Construction Start: August 15, 2025
Completion & Opening: July 15, 2026
Proposal Requirements
Bidders must meet these minimum qualifications:
10+ completed commercial pool projects (250+ m² water surface) in the last 10 years
5+ waterslide installations in the last 10 years
Proven compliance with Alberta codes and safety regulations
Detailed project references and subcontractor outlines
Submission Process
Proposals will be evaluated based on design, experience, innovation, and cost-efficiency. The lowest bid may not be selected, and the Town reserves the right to reject all bids if necessary.
