This Sources Sought Notice is intended for information and planning purposes only at this time; and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation on the part of the Department of Veterans Affairs. Because this is a Sources Sought announcement, no evaluation letters and/or results will be issued to the respondents. No solicitation exists. Therefore, do not request a copy of a solicitation.
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), VISN 4, Network Contracting Office 4 (NCO 4), is seeking information and potential qualified sources capable of providing Outdoor, Self-Contained Exercise Unit. The exercise unit will be delivered to the Pittsburgh VA Medical Center, located in Pittsburgh, PA 15215.

1. Introduction
The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare Systems (VA PHCS) located at University Drive, Pittsburgh PA has a BRAND NAME OR EQUAL (BNOE) requirement for one (1) outdoor, self-contained exercise unit for the Whole Health department.

2. Background and Specifications
The Whole Health department requires one additional outdoor, self-contained exercise unit for patient care. The unit will be placed outside in the outdoor rehab area. To meet spacing restraints, provider preference, and infection control guidelines, the brand name for reference is the Beaver Fit Shred Shed. Salient characteristics for an additional unit are:

Customized Internal Storage
o The inside of the unit must contain fabricated storage racks for the
external functional training rig and included multi-modality fitness equipment.
Required material - Steel
o Steel thickness of at least 3 x 3 , 7 gauge, with a minimum grade of S235or
A283C.
Hot Dip Galvanized
o Hot dip galvanized to American Standard ASTM A 123/A 123M.
Powder-- Coated.
o Treated and powder coated via American standard ASTM D7803.
Waterproof
External Rig Characteristics/Integrated Storage must contain at least:
9 x external pull up stations
3 x squat stations (Must attach to the side walls of the container and legs must touch the
ground for safety and stability purposes).
1 x 45 degree, 9 climbing wing/muscle-up bar
1 x dip bar attachment
1 x landmine attachment
1 x wall ball target
1 x battling rope hook
2 x j-cups set
4 x storage shelves
1 x bumper plate shelf
2 x barbell storage pegs

Included Equipment must include at least the following items:

3. Scope
The contractor will coordinate all deliveries with the technical POC provided below. All deliveries will be made to the University Drive address of the VA PHCS address. The contractor will provide:

Installation
Removal and disposal of all packaging materials and shipping debris
Delivery of the unit as designated by the POC
Operation and maintenance manuals
Coordinate delivery with POC prior to shipping

This Sources Sought Notice will be conducted in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13. Telephone responses will not be accepted. Responses must be received via e-mail to mcdaniel.brayboy@va.gov no later than, 1:00 PM Eastern Standard Time (EST) on May 01, 2025. This notice will help the VA in determining available potential sources only. Do not contact VA Medical Center staff regarding this requirement, as they are not authorized to discuss this matter related to this procurement action. All firms responding to this Sources Sought Notice are advised that their response is not a request for proposal, therefore will not be considered for a contract award.

If a solicitation is issued, information will be posted on the Contract Opportunities website for all qualified interested parties at a later date, and interested parties must respond to the solicitation to be considered for award. This notice does not commit the government to contract for any supplies or services. The government will not pay for any information or administrative cost incurred in response to this Source Sought Notice.
