Future Ready Furniture

The San Marcos Unified School District (SMUSD) is committed to providing its students with an education that makes them "Future Ready." This strategic promise, deeply embedded in the district's vision and exemplified by its "Portrait of a Graduate," emphasizes the development of essential 21st-century skills, competencies, and mindsets necessary for students to thrive in college, careers, and as engaged citizens. To further support this vision and address critical facility needs identified by the community, San Marcos Unified School District voters passed Measure JJ in the November 2024. This bond measure provides significant funding for modernizing and improving school facilities across the district, including the enhancement of learning environments through updated furniture and equipment.

In alignment with our "Future Ready" strategic goals and the opportunities presented by Measure JJ, SMUSD is seeking proposals from qualified and experienced firms to provide comprehensive furniture-related services. These services will be instrumental in creating optimal and flexible learning spaces that foster collaboration, creativity, and adaptability – key elements of our educational approach. This includes the provision of high-quality furniture, design consultation, professional installation, ongoing professional development related to furniture use and maintenance, robust warranty services, and consideration of the proposer's warehouse location.

This RFP outlines our requirements and invites interested vendors to submit proposals detailing their capabilities and proposed solutions that align with and support our strategic goals and the facility improvements enabled by Measure JJ.
