Description: Malta Town Hall Mid-Block Crossing Project in the Town of Malta, Saratoga County, New York. The project consists of the construction of a mid-block crossing on US Route 9 in front of Malta Town Hall. The project also includes concrete curbing, granite curbing, signage, striping and Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons. Sealed bids will be received at the Town of Malta at the Comptroller’s Office until 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 local time, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud. Any bid not received and time stamped by the Town of Malta before 10:00 A.M. on November 13, 2024 will not be accepted. All bidders must comply with the general municipal law, Section 103. Bids must be in a sealed envelope plainly marked “Bid for Malta Town Hall Mid-Block Crossing Project”. Bid deposit 5% of Base Bid. Digital versions of the plans and specifications may be obtained by contacting the design engineer. Bid document requests shall be made by calling (518)-689-1847 or by emailing cgeroux@cmellp.com . Hard copies of the bid documents will not be provided. No questions or inquiries regarding this bid will be accepted within three (3) business days prior to the bid opening. Subcontracting is permitted as described in Section 108-05 of the Standard Specifications of the Dept. of Transportation with the exception that the contractor shall perform work amounting to not less than 30 percent of the total contract bid price. The Bidder to whom the Contract is awarded will be required to furnish Performance, Payment and Guarantee Bonds from an acceptable Surety Company for an amount not less than 100% of the accepted bid. The Town of Malta reserves the right to consider the bids for forty-five (45) days after receipt before awarding any Contract, and to waive any informalities in, and to reject, any and all bids or to accept the lowest qualified responsible and conforming bid that in its judgment will be for the best interest of the Town. The Town may, in its sole discretion, request for bidders to hold bids for an additional thirty (30) days. All bids are subject to final review and approval by the Town of Malta before any award of contract may be made. Receipt of bids by the Town shall not be construed as authority to bind the Town.
