Description:

The State University of New York at SUNY DOWNSTATE HEALTH SCIENCES UNIVERSITY will receive Statement of Qualifications until November 6, 2024 at 12:00 PM (EST) for providing Construction Management Services for the following projects – in its Hospital (UHD). The projects are of varying size and complexity, and are generally described as --

  • Medical Gas Upgrades to Patient Rooms

Remediation of deficiencies in the distribution of medical gasses at, and in the distribution system to the patient room throughout University Hospital of Brooklyn (UHD); it includes potential modifications to the patient room headwalls, ceilings and the general environment.

  • Cardiac Cath Lab Suite Renovations

Equipment upgrade and modernizations to two Cath Labs and ancillary spaces. Code compliance and provision of a safe and pleasant environment for patients, staff, physician education and research will require significant renovation.

  • Domestic Water Supply Remediation

Upgrades to the UHD supply system to correct existing deficiencies.

Brief Project Background

Downstate is now seeking qualifications from consultant Construction Management firms to assist its Facilities Management & Development (FM&D), Design and Construction Department (D&C) in delivering these Projects by providing Construction Management (as Agent) [CMa]Services. The consultant(s) will provide CMa Services during the Design / Pre-Construction (to the extent applicable and necessary) and Construction Phases of the Project(s), as applicable to the particular project’s current phase at the time of start of services. Downstate will select one CMa (Team) to provide services for all three Projects.

SUNY Downstate is one of the nation's leading urban medical centers. Downstate comprises a College of Medicine , School of Health Professions , College of Nursing , School of Graduate Studies , School of Public Health , and University Hospital of Brooklyn . University Hospital at Downstate is the borough's only hospital located at an academic medical center. As such, it offers the most advanced and comprehensive care in Brooklyn. It serves a population of more than three million, with 345 beds, 70 specialty clinics and centers of excellence, and more than 300,000 annual outpatient visits. UHD, constructed in 1965, is a nine (9) story facility of approximately 689,000 gross square feet.
