Overview
Summary

Collin County is seeking to identify a supplier for the purpose of removing, and then purchasing or disposing of an estimated amount of 12,000 gallons of diesel fuel, currently located in an underground storage tank. Suppliers will have an opportunity to pull a fuel sample during the mandatory pre-bid meetings, and have the fuel tested at no charge to the County. Fuel testing equipment/kits will NOT be provided for fuel sampling. It will be the responsibility of the supplier attending the mandatory pre-bid meeting(s) to supply their own testing equipment/kits. Testing is not required by the County, but any interested bidder wanting to submit a purchase price but does not take a fuel sample will do so at their own risk

Background

Collin County currently has an underground fuel tank holding an estimated 12,000 gallons of Ultra Low Sulfur #2 Diesel (TXLED), which the tank and fuel have not been in operation for approximately 4.5 years. The County is seeking a supplier to remove and then purchase or dispose of the diesel fuel as the tank is set to be removed from its existing location and replaced with an above ground fuel storage tank. The County does not have the means to remove and store the fuel during the new construction phase, which is scheduled to being late August 2025. Awarded supplier is expected to coordinate with Collin County Equipment Services to provide a timeline and schedule removal/disposal, and service shall be completed no later than August 7, 2025.
