Description: The intent of this solicitation is to award an Agency Specific Contract for the provision of up to six total Medical Experts and/or Psychological Experts to provide support to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). The Department of Health and Human Services, Disability Determination Services Division (DDS), is seeking to procure services from a business employing qualified medical professionals to provide medical, psychological, and psychiatric evaluation services to assist in the adjudication of claims for disability. DDS is a largely federally funded state agency that makes entitlement decisions on Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and state Medicaid Disability claims. DDS works under the policy requirements of the Social Security Administration. The Medical Claims Advisor and Psychological Claims Advisor is a licensed physician, psychologist or psychiatrist that reviews the claim file, including medical evidence and consultative exam reports, to issue physical or mental decisions utilized by analysts to approve or deny claims for Social Security and Medicaid Disability benefits.
