Project Description: The work to be performed under this contract shall consist of installation of the 12-inch Primus Liner system in a 16-inch HDPE potable mainline that is a transmission line from the Hanapēpē Water System to the Eleele Water System.. The 16-inch HDPE mainline starts at the discharge side of the Eleele Booster Pumping station and runs up the side of a cliff to the Eleele Steel Tanks located at the top. Excavation of the 16-inch HDPE mainline where it transitions to a 12-inch at the top is required, there is ample room to perform this work. The bottom of the 16-inch HDPE mainline is above ground on piers where it transitions to the 12-inch and accessible without excavation. The 16-inch HDPE mainline is located within a 27” steel pipe for the majority of the run up the cliffside. If work requires traffic control for mobilization of equipment for the excavation pit at the top, Contractor to acquire permits as necessary at Contractor’s expense.
Installation access points are within Department of Water and State Highways easements. Total length of pull is 900 ft, as indicated in the contract drawings and specifications.
