The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is for Carmichael Water District to retain professional engineering services for the Design for the Landis Avenue, Gunn Road, and Angelina Avenue Mainline Replacement Project . The project includes sections of water distribution lines on: 1) Landis Avenue starting from California Avenue and East till the end of Landis Avenue; 2) Gunn Road starting from Willow Park Ct and North till El Camino Avenue; and 3) Angelina Avenue from Fair Oaks Boulevard and West until it dead ends; Robertson Avenue from Garfield Avenue then East till La Vista Avenue; various upgrades along Joellen Ct, Whitewood Dr, Ashwood Dr, and Garfield Ave. Along (1) Landis Avenue the District is estimating the following work: replacing 650 feet of 30-inch steel main with either 24-inch ductile iron pipe (DIP) or slip-lining with approximately 28-inch HDPE; replacing 1,300 feet of 24-inch steel main with new 24-inch DIP; reconnecting 1 water sample station; installing 2 new blow-offs; replacing 2 air release valves; upgrading 7 fire hydrants; and reconnecting 63 services, of which 4 will require relocation and in-track work for reconnection. Along (2) Gunn Road the District is estimating the following work: installing 2,100 feet of new 12-inch DIP in replacement of existing 6- and 8-inch water mains; installing 1 new blow-off; upgrading 3 fire hydrants; and reconnecting 51 services, of which 6 will require relocation or in-track work for reconnection. As part of the larger effort to abandon backyard watermains near (3) Angelina Avenue, the District is estimating the following work: installing 3,000 feet of new 10- and 16-inch DIP; installing 1 new blow-off; upgrading 7 fire hydrants; and reconnecting 51 services, of which 6 will require relocation and in-track work for reconnection.
Proposals will be reviewed and chosen based on the criteria described in the RFP. The District reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, and select a proposal in the best interests of the District. If a Professional Services Agreement is to be awarded, the District will award the Agreement to the firm selected by the Carmichael Water District review committee.
