This is an On Call contract, which shall be used to provide the City with a readily available work force for repairs and alterations to existing facilities, emergency repairs, and new construction of projects less than $175,000, as the City deems appropriate. In general, the work consists of repair, alteration, replacement, and construction of general engineering municipal improvements including, but not limited to, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, sidewalk crossings, curb ramps, cross gutters, concrete and hot mix asphalt, dikes, decomposed granite sidewalks, retaining walls, storm drain systems, swails, and infiltration, sewer line systems, traffic signals, lighting, brick surfacing, paver surfacing, interlocking pavers, sawcutting uplifted portions of sidewalks and miscellaneous associated work at such times and locations as required. The work shall be located within the City of Seaside, Seaside County Sanitation District, City of Del Rey Oaks, City of Sand City, the Ord Military Community and or other area under the jurisdiction of the City of Seaside or US Army Garrison Presidio of Monterey.
The contract with a successful bidder will be for a term of one (1) year with a not to exceed annual funding limit of $1,000,000. The agreement will include an option for an additional four (4) 1-year extensions with a not to exceed annual funding limit of $1,000,000. The total term of this agreement will not exceed five (5) years.
The City reserves the right to award up to four (4) contracts to a pool of the lowest responsive, responsible bidders for the work set forth in the City’s call for bids and/or written plans and specifications based on unit prices. Up to four (4) multiple On Call contracts for public repair, maintenance or alterations work may be awarded by the City Council.
