The primary function of the telehealth provider shall be to provide remote patient care services in the specialty of his or her training. The Contractor will be responsible for the planning, coordination, development, implementation, deliver, management of program and quality assurance of telehealth solutions that will allow IHS patient’s access to Telehealth Specialty service for defined clinical domains and Scope of Service withing the specific Service Unit, significantly improving access to care by reducing the delay and costs involving patient travel. Telehealth visits will be scheduled for conditions or problems in which a virtual visit is most likely to be suitable, for example, but not limited, 1) management of chronic conditions such as diabetes or hypertension; 2) discussion of test results or diagnostic studies; 3) counseling about diagnostic and therapeutic options; 4) dermatology; 5) medication management; 4) nutrition counseling.
