RFP for Town Tree Planting - Fall 2025
Description:
The Town of Greenburgh seeks the services of a licensed professional landscape installation company for purposes of:

Meeting with Department of Community Development and Conservation and Department of Public Works staff in the field, to review staff identified locations for tree planting at the following locations: Chelsea Road Water Tank, P.O. White Plains NY – 4 trees; Theodore D Young Community Center, 32 Manhattan Ave, P.O. White Plains NY – 3 trees; Knollwood Road & Buena Vista Drive Island, P.O. White Plains NY – 1 tree; Birchwood Lane Water Tank, P.O. Hartsdale NY – 6 trees; South Poe St, P.O. Hartsdale NY – 8 trees; 98 Harvard Dr, P.O. Hartsdale NY – 4 trees; 10 Burns St, P.O. Hartsdale NY – 1 tree; 4 Charlotte Pl, P.O. Hartsdale NY – 1 tree; 7 Cheshire Ln, P.O. Scarsdale NY – 1 tree; 175 Longview Dr, P.O. Scarsdale NY – 1 tree; 2 Mt. Joy Ave, P.O. Scarsdale NY – 1 tree and DPW Highway Yard, Sprain Road, P.O. Scarsdale NY – 10 trees – Fall 2025.

Coordinating all required Code 753 “Call Before You Dig” protocols.

Coordinating with the Greenburgh Police Department (if deemed necessary) for roadway lane closures.

Proper planting and staking (if required) of a total of 41 trees (~1.5” caliper size B&B) at the locations identified in #1 above, pursuant to the “Tree Owner’s Manual for the Northeastern and Midwestern United States”, printed by the USDA Forest Service, dated November 2008, or the most current version or its successor.

Placement of brown organic shredded mulch around each of the 41 trees to be planted (mulch to be provided by the contractor).
Please provide a cost for each task and total lump sum fee, as well as a schedule of timing regarding the above referenced deliverables. Please also provide appropriate Certificates of Insurance as outlined within the attached
Street Opening Permit Requirements
document.
The Town of Greenburgh seeks to authorize this work in fall 2025 (mid-October). Please note that a Highway Work Permit may be required through the NYSDOT and, if deemed a requirement, the Town of Greenburgh will function as the permittee, with the selected contractor providing all appropriate certificates of insurance as per NYSDOT requirements.
