South Dakota State University is requesting Statements of Interest from qualified firms to provide professional architectural and engineering design services for the renovation of Rooms 327 and 329 in Berg Hall.
The scope includes documenting existing conditions, concept development, preliminary cost estimates, design development, construction documents, bidding support, and construction administration. The goal is to transform the existing spaces into a Human Biology Inquiry Center—an innovative learning environment that supports immersive, hands-on student experiences not currently available elsewhere on campus. This new space will help better prepare students for professional school admissions and careers in biomedical fields.
The lab will serve as a flexible and forward-thinking educational space where students can explore new technologies, teaching methods, and real-world clinical applications. These upgrades aim to enhance curriculum delivery, support research, and strengthen recruitment efforts for the Human Biology program.
A technical review committee will select the firm based on the criteria shown. The committee respectfully requests that Statements of Interest be limited to 20 pages or less. This is not a requirement, merely a request.
Copies of the Statement of Interest must be submitted by 3:00PM on Thursday August 28, 2025. Please submit an electronic copy or e-transfer link to the following contact:
