This program collects $0.10 per hundredweight of all milk produced in Vermont from cow, goat, and sheep dairy farmers which totals approximately $2 million in funds annually. Dairy Check-off funds can be used to support post-milking activities including marketing, education, outreach, and consumer development. The VDPC has identified the following areas as priorities for the allocation of Vermont-generated funds: consumer, health professional, and youth education; farmer development; consumer engagement, marketing, and promotion; research; and Vermont focused projects.
