Replace Pavers - University Union, Academic A&B

The State University Construction Fund (SUCF) is seeking Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) from consultants to provide design and construction administration services for the Replace Pavers – University Union, Academic A & B project at the State University of New York at Binghamton.

This project is for the rehabilitation of three outdoor areas of approximately 50,000 SF total which contain a variety of concrete pavers, concrete planters with trees, light fixtures, drainage structures, ramps, stairs and railings, and brick planter/sitting walls. Rehabilitation of these areas is required to provide a safe walking surface and protect building infrastructure from water infiltration in areas where pavers are installed over occupied space.

At the University Union, the pavers were installed in 1998. The project includes pavers along the north side of the building and abutting the Peace Quad. The system is in fair to poor condition demonstrated by areas of cracking, loose pavers, Utilities are present in the area.

At Academic A&B, the pavers were installed prior to 2005 and are in poor condition as demonstrated by large areas of cracking and areas where material has eroded away. Utilities including water, electrical, and stormwater is present in the area.

Consultants should emphasize their knowledge and experience in managing large site rehabilitation projects that include concrete pavers on grade and on structural deck, site lighting on poles, concrete ramps, concrete planters with trees, brick sitting walls, and area drainage.

The construction value is estimated at approximately $6,080,000.

SOQs must be submitted in the format prescribed by the Fund using the link provided in the email received after registration that supplies the RFQ.
