RFP-Reel-to-Reel Wet Coating Machine

Battery-NY is seeking the equipment to provide a flexible and modular anode and cathode electrode manufacturing capability in a single machine. Fed with wet anode or cathode slurries from the previous mixing process, the slurry is pumped through a filter and slot-die and deposited onto a current collector (fed from an unwind unit) using a reel-to-reel process to ensure a uniform and continuous coating operation. The coated electrodes are dried in multi-stage ovens to evaporate off the solvents (NMP to be captured in a recovery system), and wound up on a reel before being fed to the next calendering process. The modular design will permit easy upgrade in future as new technologies and processes are developed.
