The Town of Wayland, acting through its Town Manager, is seeking bids to contract with a pre-qualified Tree Service Company who is capable of performing various Tree Removal, Tree Pruning and Stump Grinding Services at any time when the Department of Public Works (DPW) does not have the available resources to do so. The types of services to be covered include, but are not limited to furnish all vehicles, labor, materials, fuel, equipment and incidentals required as specified herein.
The work will include all associated tree removal, tree pruning and stump grinding services as needed. Work may be performed as planned maintenance or on an as-needed emergency basis. The contractor will need to perform as-needed emergency work within four (4) hours of receiving notice by DPW staff. The contractor will be required to dispose of all trees, logs and, woods chips, and stump grindings at their own expense. The successful bidder must adhere to all local, state, and federal firewood, lumber, and other woody plant materials quarantines.
All bids and the awarding of any contract are subject to the provisions of M.G.L. Ch. 30, § 39M, et seq. Wages are subject to minimum wage rates determined by the Massachusetts Department of Labor and Industries pursuant to M.G.L. Ch. 149, §§ 26 to 27H.

Bid Deposit – Bidders are required to furnish a bid deposit worth 5% of the total maximum value of the total bid. See bid documents for details.

Performance Surety Bond – The Awarded Contractor may be required to supply a Performance Surety Bond, worth up to 100% of the total contract.

Labor and Materials Payment Bond – The Awarded Contractor may be required to supply a 50% Labor and Materials Payment Bond.
