The Ohio Department of Natural Resources is requesting bids for: Division of Wildlife – Put-In-Bay Aquatic Visitor Center.

Area 1:

Install approximately 105 feet of 6' high black #1230 Courtyard 3-Rail Aluminum Fence with all posts set in concrete or on plate if anchored to the lakefront break wall. Posts to be .125 wall thickness.

Area 2:

Install approximately 103 feet of 6' high black #1230 Courtyard 3-Rail Aluminum Fence with all posts set in concrete or on plate if anchored to the lakefront break wall. Posts to be .125 wall thickness.

For Area 1 and 2:  Work to include fence panels, line posts, end posts and post caps.

Other information:

• All dirt excavated for the installation of individual fence posts to be piled adjacent to each post hole

• Property lines are marked with survey stakes

• Installer will contact State of Ohio Utility Protection Services to have all underground lines marked

• DOW will obtain any necessary permits for fence installation

• DOW will be responsible for marking any private lines, tiles, septic and leach bed lines

• DOW will clear/remove any objects that would interfere with fence line installation.

Delivery – Installation in March 2026, when Miller Boat Line resumes ferry service to South Bass Island. Contractors will not be reimbursed for ferry transportation fees, including vehicles, trailers and passengers.

F.O.B. DESTINATION/PRE-PAID/ALLOWED. The Contractor must provide Deliverables under this Contract F.O.B. Destination/Pre-Paid/Allowed. The place of destination will be specified by the Ordering Agency on the agency’s purchase order or other ordering document. Cost of the freight must be borne and paid by the Contractor unless otherwise stated.

All risk of loss, regardless of the cause, will remain with the Contractor until title to the Deliverable passes to the State. Unless otherwise provided in this Contract, the State will determine whether the Contractor provided each Deliverable required in this Contract and has fully met all work requirements of this Contract. Title to any Deliverables will pass to the State on Acceptance of the Deliverable.

Evaluation. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder as determined by the State. All Proposals must be submitted through Ohio Buys. Proposals received outside of Ohio Buys will not be considered.

Contract Award. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder by low lot total. Low lot total will be determined by multiplying the unit cost by the estimated usage listed in the bid and then adding each of the totals together to arrive at a total for all items. Failure to bid all items may result in the bidder being deemed not responsive

Once a contract is awarded, failure of the bidder to have requested a site visit to become familiar with the facility and requirements of the bid will be insufficient reason to support any request to be released from the contract.

All bidders must sign and attach the Standard Affirmation & Disclosure Form to their bid in Ohio Buys. This may be signed electronically through Adobe or through a wet signature. If this is not attached, the winning bidder will be asked to sign before a contract can be routed for review.
