Piping Tunnel HTHW Valves (rebid)

The State University of New York at Albany (Uptown Campus) will receive sealed bids for project number P-1566-B titled Piping Tunnel HTHW Valves until 2:00pm local time on Monday, April 21st, 2025, at University at Albany, Service Building “A”, 1400 Washington Ave., Albany, NY 12222 Room 103, where such proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud.

Work covered under this contract includes but is not limited to supplying and installing ball trunnion isolation valves at various locations and of different sizes on the existing High Temperature Hot Water (400F, 400psi) distribution piping in the academic podium tunnel as shown in the drawings and as specified in the technical specifications. In addition, any work as further described in the General Requirements, Description of Work.

This project will be installed in summer 2026. All materials required for the project must be on- site on or before May 1, 2026. Installation work must start on May 19, 2026, and must be complete by June 3, 2026. The campus High Temperature Hot Water (HTHW) system is shutdown during this two-week window allowing for valves to be installed.

An optional pre-bid walkthrough is scheduled for Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 2:00pm, with interested parties meeting at the Uptown Campus, Service Building A, Room 103 to preview the bid set, and then commence on a tour of the podium tunnel. The pre-bid walkthrough is not mandatory but bidders are strongly encouraged to attend.

Bids must be submitted in duplicate in accordance with the instructions contained in the Information for Bidders. Security will be required for each bid in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the Total Bid.

All work shall be in accordance with construction drawings and specifications. Contractor must be able to secure a performance bond for the full amount of their bid and should be prepared to anticipate a value in excess of $ 1,500,000.00 for this project. Please note that this project is exempt from the Wicks Law .
